    Asari Fusion Violin Bow

Posted by Andrew Bernard on 18th Jun 2021

Speaking as an adult beginner rather than a professional violinist or teacher I would like to say that this is a truly superb bow and remarkable at this price point. The fit and fittings are superb with a lovely snakewood and mother of pearl inlaid frog. It's not clear to me exactly what the stick is - it appears to me that it is a carbon fibre and fibreglass composite, which could account for the 'fusion' name. [It's quite hard to find out more about these bows and the maker remains a mystery despite web searches.] The stick is very very strong and yet not heavy. It's an unusual grey colour which I find very modern and attractive. The astonishing thing about this bow is how it enables you to track in a dead straight path with seemingly no effort. I do not find this with the normal student wooden bows. It lifts me up as a beginner to a much higher starting point than I would have thought possible. I can produce dynamics from ppp to fff with also no struggle at all! The stick is absolutely straight under tension with not the slightest warp - immensely important in a bow. The hair it comes with is of good quality, and holds all different rosins very well. Overall I give this bow the highest rating and recommendation. Sure there are better bows to be had, but you need to spend considerably more money to exceed the quality and performance of this wonderful and nice bow.
