    Thomastik Spirocore Tungsten medium tension G string

    I bought this expensive string hoping to get a clearer sound and quicker response than the Larsen strings I had on my cello and was delighted with the sound. However initially it sounded somewhat harsh especially if played as an open strings. Fortunately after a week of playing in the harshness is "mellowing" without any loss of clarity or responsiveness. The same applies to the C string I installed at the same time.
