Born in Teaca in 1973, I spent my childhood in Reghin, known as the city of violins. Two very different passions marked my early beginnings: football and model ship building. While football involves team work and communication skills, model ship building requires more technical, individual skills and "golden hands".
During highschool, in Tg Mures, both passions coexisted: working with wood was a pleasant task because I attended a woodworking highschool and, as a team member of COV Tg Mures I won a silver medal in the junior republican football championship.
1997 was the year of first contact with a stringed instrument factory and from there on I only channelled my energy into this passion; there I learned the ins and outs of the trade, understanding that making musical instruments is a mix of art, technique and music. Three years later I moved to another company, becoming better and better up to the point of deciding to start my own business in 2005.
Music is for me the bond between matter and spirit, matter seen as the violin player and the spirit as the long-lasting, warming feeling that remains after a song was performed. I think that for a violin maker, who can play his own instruments, there is no greater joy and satisfaction than to hear the "voice" of his creation.
